What are pallet collars?
A pallet collar is a modular frame placed around a pallet to create an enclosed space that ensures secure storage and easy transport. Traditionally, wooden collars were used as they pose as a cost-effective solution for businesses with a higher turnover or require more shipping needs. However, the versatile and sustainable benefits of plastic collars have made them a popular choice for companies focused on long-term value and durability.
Palletower’s collars are available in the EU and US pallet sizes of 1200 x 800mm (EU) and 1200 x 1000mm (US) to seamlessly integrate with any working environment. Their interlocking design helps the collar easily lock onto a pallet base and create secure sides to the pallet that increase by 300mm with each used collar.
Why use a pallet collar?
Just like all of Palletower’s products, our plastic pallet collars are designed with flexibility in mind. While pallet boxes are still the preferred piece of equipment, collars offer customers requiring varying container sizes more practicality.
From an operational and transport perspective, businesses can build loads on plastic pallet collars to the exact height needed for a particular delivery or shipment. Once deliveries have been fulfilled, they can be folded down to save on storage whilst being returned or when not in use.
Plastic pallet collars are designed to be more durable than wooden collars and maintenance-free. We advise our customers to opt for plastic collars over wooden ones as they are resistant to moisture, prone to less damage as well as easy to clean.
They are easy to use with a secure and quick hinge lock system and stacking location and will complete many cycles within the supply chain.
